The football icon said he was not obsessed about achieving the feat.
The former Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus superstar has already hit 923 goals from 1261 games in his career so far.
He is at the moment, the only footballer in the history of the game, to have scored over 900 official goals.
DAILY POST reports that in the 150 years football has existed, only 24 players have managed to hit the back of the net 500 times or more in their careers.
Out of them, only four are currently active — Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Luis Suarez, and Ronaldo.
Ronaldo’s fans are eagerly waiting for him to score his 1000th goal as the 39-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down.
Speaking to El Chiringuito, however, Ronaldo said the talk of reaching 1000 goals was getting a ‘bit annoying.’
“If I could achieve it, it would be great… but I’m not obsessed with it. It’s getting a bit annoying to talk about,” Ronaldo said (via journalist Fabrizio Romano’s X handle).
Ronaldo has registered 23 goals and provided four assists from 25 games across competitions for his Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr this season.
He is also the player with the most international goals in men’s football.
