Clerics Back Trump on Recognizing Only Two Genders

President Donald Trump has begun to shake the table seconds after his inauguration as the 47th president of America. One of the most audacious pronouncements was the recognition of two genders (male and female) as originally created by God....Read Full Article >>➤

Donald Trump’s recognition of only two genders, male and female, has significant implications for America and the world. This stance is outlined in his executive order, ‘Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.’ The Order reverses efforts by the Biden administration to broaden gender identity designations, including on passports.

“As of today, it will henceforth, be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female,” Trump said during his inaugural address Monday, taking an early step to fulfill one of his culture war campaign promises.

Similarly, a Trump administration official told reporters after the inauguration that the U.S. government will also shift from using the term “gender” to “sex,” and that sex is “an individual’s immutable biological classification.”

According to the executive order signed by Trump, all government agencies will ensure that official documents, including passports, visas and Global Entry cards, “accurately reflect the holder’s sex.”

Also, departments running federal prisons, migrant shelters, rape shelters and other “intimate spaces” will be directed to protect single-sex spaces for privacy. And employee records will also adhere to the executive order, as will federal departments’ messaging.

The officials also disclosed that “agencies are no longer going to promote gender ideology through communication forms and other messages,” adding that grants and contracts will be reviewed to ensure that “federal funds shall not be used to promote gender ideology.”

Critics have however, said that Trump’s recognition of only two genders may lead to increased polarisation and controversy in America, and the rest of the world. His stance on two genders may also impact the country’s reputation as a champion of human rights and LGBTQ+ equality.

On the global stage however, international organisations that push for human rights, especially those in support of LGBTQ+ and other rights groups may condemn his stance, by advocating for the recognition and protection of all individuals, regardless of their gender identity.

Trump’s stance may influence other countries’ policies on gender recognition, potentially emboldening conservative governments to adopt similar measures on gender choices across the globe.

His position may also result in push back resistance and advocacy for the rights of people who identify as transgender and other non-binary individuals.

Implications of Trump’s recognition of two genders

Femi Popoola, a former Baptist pastor now based in the Netherlands, told BusinessDay that Trump’s recognition of two genders is a good development in that the drive for multiple genders will no longer get America’s support and by implication, will likely affect the rest of the global South.

“It sounds very interesting to hear Donald Trump, the 47th American President and the most powerful leader in the world, declare at his inauguration that his administration will give recognition only to two genders.

“This is because of the pivotal role America plays in influencing the ways things go in the world and also because of the way America has been pushing the rest of the world to embrace recognition of multiple genders.”

Speaking further on the implication, Popoola said that U.S. recognition of two genders does not mean that governments in the rest of the global South will follow suit with Trump on the back of their individual national sovereignty.

“To this end, everything is still the way it is. However, on a critical note, I do not think that this will really have much impact on those who are bent on that negative drive. The reason I think is that non-recognition does not necessarily imply that it is out rightly banned,” Popoola said.

Godfrey Emmanuel, a former pastor of El-Shaddai Bible Church, Mercy Cathedral, Omole, Phase 2, told BusinessDay that God organically made all humans (male and female), which balances the equation of creation. According to him, any other artificial or intellectual stretch beyond these two genders is and will always be a monumental distortion that will eventually destroy the fabric of any society, if nothing is drastically done to stop the biological aberrations in the name of modern sex codes.

“So, the Presidential inauguration speech of Trump, that only the two genders ‘male and female’ will be officially recognised in the United States of America, should be celebrated, welcomed and practised in reality. President Trump should be globally applauded for the political and executive will to correct these sex code errors and orientations that the world seems afraid of defining what is good and calling what is bad, evil,” Emmanuel said.

According to him, “President Trump, in my humble view, is both a moral hero and compass for the world, beyond political rhetoric, uninformed perceptions, biases and ideological differences. His Presidential speech has only amplified the voice of the word of God and by further giving credence to our original belief system that some known Gospel Preachers and Churches in the Western World in particular, have refused or are reluctant to speak about.

The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William F. Kumuyi, in his prayer at the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast on January 20, 2025, prayed for a united Church with the forthrightness to speak the truth to power.

“Lord, we come in preparation for the celebration of Donald Trump, the president tomorrow. We’re asking that You will grant him wisdom, and You will grant the church the unity, the revival, the knowledge, the vision, and the forthrightness to speak the truth to power. And we pray, as You connect the church with the leader, that it will be a pleasing unity, that You will help the President, and that the church will remain the church.

“Revive Your church, restore Your church, and purge Your church so that there will be the holiness and the righteousness You expect for Your church, and the church will have a meaningful ministry in the government and America,” Kumuyi prayed during the faith-based gathering hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner in Washington DC.

In what looks like a response to Kumuyi’s prayer, President Trump signed an executive order to recognition only two genders in the United States, which in a way is an attempt at fulfilling one of his electoral promises on culture war at a time when the Church has failed to lead the global campaign against same-sex, among others.

“The true church of Jesus Christ must rise to the occasion of challenging sins and all perversions in the world through the proclamation of the biblical gospel. The biblical gospel of Christ is the only weapon to destroy all satanic manipulations,” Popoola said.

According to him, “Trump’s pronouncement and action should be seen as God speaking to the apostate church to repent of its error. Trump’s position on two genders is a victory and a cause for continuous demonstration of courage and resilience for churches which have been resisting the pressure from the secular authority to bow to the push for multiple genders.

“On the part of Christendom, I think it is commendable as it shows that God can still use secular authority to bring good sense into the apostate church in our own time. It has been an abominable thing that several congregations in the US and other parts of the world have been giving recognition to multiple genders as against the clear two-gender-based belief and teaching of the Bible due to the influence of relativism.”

However, Emmanuel told BusinessDay that Trump’s executive order recognising only two sexes (male and female) is going to strengthen Christendom and have a ripple positive effect on the gospel, even though righteousness can never be legislated.

According to him, nobody should condemn individuals that identify outside the male/female gender because Jesus did not give the Church the ministry of condemnation but that of reconciliation. He said that the Church should rather show such individuals superior love to fill some vacuums in their lives that the Church and the society can fill.

Emmanuel further said that every individual and society should go back to the original basis of things, by identifying with the male and female gender code as it was from the beginning. “After all, the iniquity of sex code distortions and sexuality bastardization is like any other sin that people are involved in. So, they must not be condemned, because Satan the enemy has done this but the gift of salvation is inclusion-driven. There are no sins that God does not pardon.”

According to him, God is using Trump to reset the world order back to the Biblical standard and probably change the current sexual orientation that recognises or identifies people outside the male and female gender group.

“Anyways, without sounding so religious, we all know why God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible. Any person who may have been misled or involved before now in Sodomy, sexual perversion or maybe, have identified himself or herself outside the male/female gender, should just repent and have a Biblical orientation about sex codes and human sexuality.

“You know that the almighty God works in mysterious ways and He chooses who He wants to use for His own purpose and glory. This time, the almighty is using President Donald Trump in this area. It is my personal prayer that the world will take and practise the wholesome message of President Trump even though they may have some misgivings about his personal idiosyncrasies,” Emmanuel added. ...Read Full Article >>➤
