The agreement for the 27-year-old is until the summer.
Villa will pay 75 per cent of his salary and have a £40m buy option clause in June.
This was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, via his X account on Sunday.
Romano wrote: “Official, confirmed. Marcus Rashford joins Aston Villa on loan from Man United.
“75% of salary covered by Villa, £40m buy option clause in June.
“Here Rashford with Monchi and Damià Vidagany, both crucial to get it done together with Unai Emery who called Marcus.
Rashford has not featured in a United matchday squad since a Europa League win over Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
The Red Devils boss, Ruben Amorim, repeatedly called him out over attitude issues and standards in training.
Rashford has now likely played his last game for United, bringing an end to a 20-year association, after he came through the club’s academy and broke into the first team.
