According to the Cityzens, Gonzalez is manager Pep Guardiola’s fourth signing in the winter transfer window.
Gonzalez joined Man City on a four-and-a-half-year deal that keeps him tied to the Premier League Champions until 2029.
Recall that before Gonzalez’s arrival, Guardiola’s side had signed Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Omar Marmoush.
“This is the perfect opportunity for me at this stage of my career,” Gonzalez said after joining City.
“I am 23 and I want to test myself in England. There’s no better club than Manchester City for me to do that.”
Meanwhile, in another development, Man City also confirmed that Jacob Wright has joined Norwich City on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Wright has made four senior appearances for Man City in the past two seasons.
The 19-year-old will now continue his development at Carrow Road for the remainder of the campaign.
“Everyone at Manchester City wishes Jacob well for the rest of the season,” City’s statement partly read.
