Former Osun State Deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore, extends his condolences to the Iwo LGA APC and the entire Osun State APC family on the passing of Alhaji Rafiu Olabamiji, the founding Chairman of the progressive party, Alliance for Democracy (AD), in Iwo Local Government Area in 1998 at the beginning of the Fourth Republic.

In a condolence message issued by the immediate past APC National Secretary, Senator Omisore highlighted the steadfastness and unwavering dedication of Alhaji Olabamiji, whom he described as an embodiment of progressiveness during his lifetime.

Senator Omisore recalled their political journey together before 1998, even before the Fourth Republic and the pre-AD formation. He noted that Alhaji Olabamiji was the Coordinator of the Iyiola Omisore Governorship Campaign Organization in Iwo LGA. During the establishment of political structures in 1998, Senator Omisore influenced the election of Alhaji Olabamiji as the Chairman of Iwo Local Government AD due to his qualifications and capabilities, the qualities Apesin Oodua and party members palpably recognized, which led to his popular emergence as the Chairman at the local congress.

Senator Omisore further stated, “Alhaji Olabamiji lived a progressive life and died a progressive. He consistently reached out to me and other progressive leaders in the state on matters concerning sociopolitical advancements in Osun and Nigeria at large. Iwo APC, Osun West APC, and Osun APC will greatly miss his significant contributions to the progressives.”
