Bashir Ahmad: Peter Obi Left Anambra with No Tangible Progress

Bashir Ahmad, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, has criticized Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, for his continuous criticism of the administration led by President Bola Tinubu.

Obi has frequently criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, especially its policies deemed harmful to Nigerians.

In a post on his official X handle on Tuesday, Ahmad argued that Obi’s past actions contradict his current claims of leadership. He pointed out that Obi’s tenure as governor of Anambra State for eight years left little to show in terms of progress.

Ahmad stated, “If Peter Obi truly represents the transformative leader he claims to be, he should have demonstrated it during his eight years as governor by turning Anambra into a model of effective governance in Nigeria.
