Marriage is a beautiful journey filled with love, compromise, and sometimes, a little bit of healthy banter. But let’s face it, there are a few questions that, when asked, can transform a peaceful home into the front lines of a battle. Here’s a take on five classic questions that are notorious for starting a little squabble:....Read Full Article>>

Ah, the age-old question that implies a whole lot of nothing has been done. Whether one spouse has been running around ticking off a to-do list or just catching up on some well-deserved rest, this question can easily sound like an accusation of laziness.

Tip: Replace it with, “Babe, tell me about your day!” It sounds less like an interrogation and more like an invitation to share.

This question can make a simple inquiry sound like a full-blown audit. It’s the financial equivalent of “Why is there a mysterious dent on the car?” Instead of immediately jumping to conclusions, a lighter approach might be, “Hey, just checking in on our spending. Anything exciting or boring I should know about?”

This one is a classic if you’re looking to mimic a scene from a soap opera. The late arrival of a spouse can turn into a drama-filled inquiry session. To keep things cheerful, maybe a joking, “Were you out saving the city again?” could lighten the mood.

Perhaps not the best question to ask a spouse who might have also had a day filled with meetings or chasing after kids. Instead of questioning the timeline, offering to help with dinner could lead to a fun cooking session together-minus the side of passive aggression!

This question can be loaded with suspicions and might make your spouse feel like they’re in a spy thriller. A playful alternative could be, “Is that your secret admirer again or just the pizza delivery updates?”

After all, they say laughter is the best medicine, and in marriage, it just might be the secret to peace and understanding too!

In a major setback for the Ondo PDP, Omotere Benson a respected political strategist and former Senior Adviser on Political Matters to ex-Governor Segun Mimiko has defected to the APC. His decision to join the APC was inspired by the visionary leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and, significantly, the grassroots influence of his Senior Special Assistant, Olaolu Kelvin Solomon. Adding to the impact, Hon. Kevin Solomon also facilitated the defection of an additional 50 PDP members, all following Benson’s lead in pledging allegiance to the APC.

This wave of defections, spearheaded by Benson and supported by over a fifty committed members, is a substantial blow to the PDP’s presence in Ward 1, Afo, Ose Local Government. Benson’s reputation as a unifying force and advocate for community-driven change has long made him a trusted figure. His switch to the APC alongside other members signals a growing alignment with the party’s progressive goals for Ondo State.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa’s dedication to impactful governance, backed by Olaolu Solomon’s tireless engagement with our communities, has shown that APC is committed to real progress,” Benson stated. “I am honored to join this mission and bring renewed energy to our shared goals for Ose and beyond.”

Olaolu Kelvin Solomon’s role in facilitating the defections has only reinforced his reputation as a people-centered leader and a key figure in Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration. Hon. Kevin Solomon has been active in engaging local communities, earning trust through his hands-on approach and programs tailored to Ondo’s unique needs. His influence played a crucial part in not only Benson’s decision but also in encouraging others to join the APC which is a powerful endorsement of the party’s vision.

In a brief ceremony at the “Children’s Homes” along Katuru Road in Kaduna, each child received N100,000 and an Itel A18s smartphone from the state government.

Governor Uba Sani pledged to support the children as they reintegrate into society, vowing to provide rehabilitation and empowerment opportunities to encourage them to become responsible, law-abiding citizens.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Dr. Abdulkadir Muazu Meyere, Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, mentioned that the governor instructed him to collect credentials from those who had completed their tertiary education. “The Governor promised that some of them will receive start-up capital for trading, others will receive skills training, and some will be offered employment,” Meyere said.

The government will monitor the conduct of each child, extending these benefits based on good behavior. Contact details, including addresses, phone numbers, and next-of-kin information, were recorded for easy tracking and follow-up.

Upon release, each child underwent a medical examination and received psycho-social counseling, focusing on personal development and community contribution. Religious leaders from both Islamic and Christian communities also counseled the children, emphasizing the importance of faith and the dangers of negative influences.

Meyere explained that the children were provided with phones, as they had lost theirs during detention, and that “the Governor graciously granted each of them N100,000 as a measure of goodwill.”
