The discovery came during a clearance operation in Aku, a community long plagued by insecurity, reportedly orchestrated by a suspected IPOB leader, Ifeanyi Okorienta, alias ” Gentle. ” The task force also recovered stolen vehicles, arms, ammunition, and explosive devices during the raid.
Security Chiefs Visit The Area
The operation was followed by an assessment tour led by Brigadier General Usman Lawal, Commander of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze. He was joined by Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, and the Governor’ s Special Adviser on Security, Joseph Ogbonna. Brigadier General Lawal emphasized that the clearance operation reflects the state government’ s determination, in collaboration withsecurity agencies, to end the reign of terror attributed to IPOB and ESN in the region.
