It was gathered that the curfew is part of the coronation rites for the new Owa-Obokun of Ijesaland. The Monarch wrote, “A 5 HOURS CURFEW HAS BEEN DECLARED IN ILESA BETWEEN 7 PM ON MONDAY, MARCH 10, 2025 AND 6 AM ON TUESDAY MARCH 11, 2025 AS PART OF THE CORONATION RITES FOR THE OWA OBOKUN OF IJESALAND”

Recall that Gov Adeleke presented Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to the new Owa Obokun of Ijesha, OBA CLEMENT ADESUYI HAASTRUP on December 29, 2024.

The historic event, last held over forty years ago, when revered departed father, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran was presented his instrument of appointment and staff of office, signifies the beginning of another era in the history of Ijesa kingdom.
