Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote via X on Wednesday, “Victor Boniface or Jhon Durán, one of them for Al Nassr… as revealed on Monday. Decision to follow soon.”

The Saudi club had earlier opened negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen for Boniface, with the German champions valuing the Nigerian at €50m.

The 24-year-old, who joined Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for €20m, recently signed a contract extension until 2029, making him one of the club’s highest earners.

Boniface had previously dismissed the idea of moving to Saudi Arabia during Victor Osimhen’s link to Al Ahli last summer.

“No, not now, I’m not thinking of that right now. Your career in Europe is also cash. When the time for more money comes, I will think about it,” Boniface had said.

Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso confirmed ongoing discussions about the striker’s future.

“There are discussions with the club; we have to wait. Our preparation for the game remains the same,” Alonso said after Boniface missed training and was excluded from Leverkusen’s UCL clash on Wednesday.

According to Sky Sports, Boniface has since passed a medical with Al Nassr and is close to a move that would see him link up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadie Mane.

The Nigerian has scored 29 goals with 11 assists in 49 appearances for Leverkusen, including eight goals this season before a thigh injury sidelined him in November 2024.
