The funds will cover building repairs, staff quarters, official residences, furniture, vehicles, and other needs.

Missions in Abidjan, Banjul, Brazzaville, Port of Spain, Caracas, and Kingston are among the beneficiaries.

Despite this allocation, nearly $1bn is reportedly needed to clear arrears and fund Nigeria’s 109 missions globally.

Financial challenges have delayed ambassadorial appointments, with many missions struggling due to insufficient funds for operations and staff allowances.

The House of Representatives has summoned officials, including the Foreign Affairs Minister, over poor budget allocations for 2025.
