A family dispute in the quiet community of Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe has led to the destruction of a house and car....Click to Read More

The incident, which has been the center of attention, recently concluded with a verdict at the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court.

Knowledge Jani, a 21-year-old resident of Shackleton Mine, was sentenced to 4 years in prison, with one year suspended, after being found guilty of malicious property damage.

His violent outburst occurred on April 22, 2024, when a heated argument at his father’s home spiraled out of control.

Jani, in a fit of rage, accused his father and stepmother of practicing witchcraft, which he claimed was responsible for his ongoing illness.

Enraged, Jani attacked his father’s Nissan Sunny, shattering its windows and severely damaging its exterior. He then siphoned fuel from the vehicle and used it to set his father’s house on fire, before igniting the already damaged car.

The damage from the fire was extensive, with losses estimated at USD 14,000. Emergency responders were able to contain the flames, but not before the property had been significantly destroyed. Jani was arrested at the scene following a distress call from his father.

The court’s ruling, eagerly awaited by both the community and the affected family, culminated in Jani receiving a 4-year sentence, with one year suspended on the condition that he does not commit a similar offense in that time, leaving him to serve an effective 3 years in prison.

Dear Men, 5 Signs of Low Self-esteem You Must Avoid

Low self-esteem can manifest in different ways and can play a pivotal role in an individual’s life. Low self-esteem in men may not always be glaring from the start and may show in subtle ways till they can no longer be ignored....Click to Read More

Here are five common signs of low self-esteem in men: While a healthy level of competitiveness is normal, men with low self-esteem often take this to an extreme.

They may constantly feel the need to prove their worth or superiority over others, whether in professional settings, social situations, or even in casual games.

Men struggling with low self-esteem may exhibit an unusually high sensitivity to criticism. They might take constructive feedback personally or react negatively and disproportionately, seeing it as an attack on their character rather than an opportunity to improve.

Those with low self-esteem might avoid social interactions because they feel inadequate or fear judgment. This withdrawal can sometimes be mistaken for introversion, but it’s often rooted in feelings of insecurity and a fear of being exposed as less than perfect.

A man with low self-esteem might go out of his way to please others, often at the expense of his own needs and desires. This behaviour stems from a fear of rejection and a deep-seated need for external validation.

Men with low self-esteem often have a pervasive sense of pessimism and engage in critical, negative self-talk. They may belittle their achievements and express doubt about their abilities, focusing predominantly on their perceived failures or inadequacies.

Encouraging open discussions about feelings of self-worth and providing support can help men confront and overcome these challenges. With the right tools and support, individuals can work towards building a healthier self-image and improving their overall quality of life.

A woman and her two daughters have been brutally murdered in a village in Nyamira county, Kenya.

The bodies of the deceased who left their home to visit a relative were found dumped in separate ditches in the Motagara and Gesima area of Nyamira County on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

According to NTV, a local administrator confirmed that the women identified as Jane, Edinah and Lonah, were killed elsewhere and their bodies were later disposed of.

“The women were not killed here; only the bodies were brought back. She had gone to visit her sister when the tragic events unfolded,” a local investigator stated.

Footage shared captured the residents’ anguish as they grappled with the tragic loss.

A grieving villager expressed deep sorrow, lamenting the lack of action regarding the rising number of violent deaths in the area.

He urged the government to intervene, citing local authorities’ inaction.

“Five people have died, not from illness but from murder. We plead with the government for help. People are being killed mercilessly, and although our local authorities are aware, they have never responded adequately,” he said.

The authorities have pledged to investigate the incidents thoroughly and hold the responsible parties accountable.
