This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Hamisu, in Katsina on Friday. According to the statement, the Commandant of the Corps, Aminu Ahmad, announced the deployment while issuing the Operational Order on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the State Command Headquarters in Katsina.
“In a brief meeting with the Senior Management Team, Ahmad emphasised the commitment of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, to ensuring safety, security, and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure across the country.
“He also highlighted the reviewed strategies, which include intensive surveillance, gathering credible intelligence, community engagement, collaboration, and due diligence, among others.
“The State Commandant tasked relevant heads of departments and units, area commanders, divisional officers, unit commanders, and special forces to ensure well-coordinated patrols and security operations across the state,” the statement read.
Ahmad further urged personnel to maintain professionalism, commitment, and dedication to duty. “Personnel deployed are to conduct themselves professionally and synergise with other security agencies to ensure hitch-free elections,” he stated.
The Commandant also stressed the importance of intensive surveillance and the protection of facilities belonging to the Federal, State, and Local Governments.
Additionally, undercover operatives have been strategically deployed to sensitive locations to provide timely and actionable intelligence aimed at curbing criminal activities.
The Command enjoined the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements of persons or items to the nearest security office.
