He claimed that despite the actions of the police, the local government election had started across all polling units across the state. He also said he had left the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun in the hands of God.
He also lamented that police presence was not visible at the polling units. In his words, “I leave the police IGP in the hands of God.
“Election has started earnestly in all the polling units across the state but no police presence is noticeable from the information available to me.”
It had earlier been reported that the Nigeria Police advised the state government not to go ahead with the poll, citing security concerns and legal implication.
However, observed that most polling units along the Gbongan-Ibadan road, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo was empty and no electoral officers were around despite the fact that voters were observed milling around.
