‘Can’t say anything more’ – Mosquera’s agent refuses to rule out Milan interest

AC Milan have a reported interest in Cristhian Mosquera, and when asked, his agent did not deny that the Rossoneri were present in the picture. 

The defensive line has been a continued interest for Milan in recent times. In the mercato, the Rossoneri have entered both of the last two windows looking for a defender, and talk of another defensive arrival has been rife leading up to January.

What is still being debated is the position of said potential arrival. There has been talk of a Theo Hernandez replacement arriving, whilst another central defender has also been suggested. Just this weekend, another right-back, Kyle Walker, has been linked to the club, so everything is still up in the air.

One of the named targets has been Mosquera, the Spanish defender from Valencia who has been improving quickly at a young age, and today, his agent was questioned about the Diavolo’s reported interest by Pianeta Milan.

In the last few hours, there has been talk of a renewal proposal from Valencia to Cristhian Mosquera. How are the negotiations for the renewal actually going?

“Cristhian still has one year left on his contract. We are talking with the club and trying to get the best from all sides. Now he only thinks about helping the team achieve its goals.”

There has been a lot of talk in recent days about AC Milan’s interest in Cristhian Mosquera. In Spain there is talk of an offer rejected by Valencia. What can you tell us about this? Have you had any contact with AC Milan?

“I think Valencia have two young central defenders of a high level, Cristhian and Yarek Gasiorowski. And I have the opportunity to work with both of them. And it’s normal that top clubs ask about them.

“They are young, international players and play with clubs in the top division. I can’t talk about one club or the other, it’s not professional for me, I can’t talk about the names of other clubs. I have respect for Valencia. Now Cristian plays with Valencia and I can’t say anything more about that.”

What kind of defender is Cristhian Mosquera? Do you think he could be suited to Milan and Sérgio Conceicao’s game?

“He is a more complete player. Physically athletic, fast, strong. Very good mentality, always focused on the game, good with the ball.”

“He can play with different styles/modules of play. He has no problem with that. But again, I don’t want to talk about other clubs or coaches. He is playing in Valencia and it would not be serious, talking about Cristhian in another club.”
