The incidents primarily impacted areas such as Azege settlement, Tombo council ward, Adabo, and Tse Gwebe, located within the Logo and Katsina- Ala local government areas.

Residents indicated that these assaults unfolded between Sunday morning and the early hours of Monday, with local accounts suggesting that a large group of armed individuals was responsible.

Joseph Anawah, a community leader from the Logo Local Government Area, disclosed that around 300 bandits crossed into Azege village from Nasarawa State on Sunday morning, launching a coordinated attack.

Anawah, who has previously worked as a media aide to a former state governor, described the attackers as well- armed and organized, hinting that they might be part of a militia from outside Nigeria.

He noted that the local security forces were quickly overwhelmed by the sheer number of attackers and their sophisticated weaponry. It was only after a military aircraft intervened that the assailants began to withdraw from the area.

As of the latest reports, more than 20 bodies have been recovered, with ongoing efforts to locate additional missing persons. Clement Kev, the Chairman of Logo Local Government Area, confirmed the tragic events, stating that 17 people were killed and 37 others sustained injuries during the assault.

He emphasized that the attackers were from Nasarawa State and specifically targeted the Tombo council ward. In light of the violence, the state governor has mobilized additional security personnel to the area, claiming that peace has been restored, although the attackers have asserted claims over the land.
