The first group of deported immigrants has arrived at the Guantánamo Bay detention facility under President Donald Trump’s new immigration policy. Originally used for terrorism suspects, Gitmo is infamous for human rights abuses and torture. Trump plans to expand it into a holding center for thousands of migrants. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called it a “perfect place” for detaining illegal immigrants. Hundreds of U.S. troops, including 300 service members from the 6th Marine Regiment, have been deployed to assist.
