According to SAWS, weather conditions will favour rapid fire spread in multiple areas, including the Laingsburg municipality in the Western Cape, most parts of the Northern Cape, the south-western North West, central Free State, and the Limpopo Valley.

Fire Danger and Weather Alerts

While no impact-based warnings or advisories have been issued beyond the fire alerts, authorities have urged residents to exercise caution, especially in high-risk zones where dry vegetation and strong winds could fuel fires.

Provincial Weather Forecast

Gauteng:
Residents can expect partly cloudy and warm conditions, with hot temperatures in the northern parts of the province. SAWS also warned of a high UVB sunburn index, urging people to take sun protection seriously.

Mpumalanga:
The province will be partly cloudy and warm, with isolated afternoon thundershowers expected along the escarpment. The Lowveld region will remain fine and hot throughout the day.

Limpopo:
Limpopo will experience partly cloudy, warm to very hot conditions, especially in the Lowveld. The north-east will stay mostly fine, while isolated thundershowers are expected in the south-east.

North West and Free State:
Both provinces will see partly cloudy and warm to hot conditions throughout Monday, with no significant rainfall expected.

Northern Cape:
The region will begin with cloudy conditions and morning fog along the coast, followed by partly cloudy and hot weather inland. Isolated showers and thundershowers may occur in the extreme south-west, while fine conditions will prevail in the north. Coastal areas can expect light to moderate westerly winds.

Western Cape:
Morning fog is anticipated in several areas, giving way to partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions. Isolated thundershowers are possible, except along the west coast, which will remain cloudy. Coastal winds will shift from light easterly in the morning to moderate westerly to south-westerly later in the day. The UVB sunburn index will be very high.

Western Half of Eastern Cape:
Morning fog will clear to partly cloudy and hot weather, with isolated to scattered thundershowers expected in some parts. Strong easterly to north-easterly winds are forecast along coastal areas.

Eastern Half of Eastern Cape:
The eastern part of the province will experience similar foggy mornings, followed by warm and partly cloudy conditions. Thundershowers are likely in the south and east, while cloudy skies will develop along the coast. Coastal winds will be light to moderate north-easterly, becoming fresh to strong later in the day.

KwaZulu-Natal:
Morning and evening fog patches are expected inland, with partly cloudy and warm weather across most areas. Isolated thundershowers are likely, especially along the coast and southern regions. Southerly to south-easterly winds will be light to moderate, while the UVB index will remain at moderate levels.
