In a statement issued by his media aide, Tolu Adetunji, the monarch addressed a video circulating online in which he made a speech during the inauguration of a road construction project in Apomu.

Oba Afolabi clarified that at no point did he encourage members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to attack supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections, as the video allegedly suggested.

He emphasized that the video does not mention the 2027 election or the APC.

“The accusation is baseless and entirely fabricated. I am a man of peace and do not condone or promote violence in any way,” the monarch stated.
