Sanwo-Olu submitted that having gone through the bills and received enlightenment on them, he believes the bill is a national plan. The Governor added that, like everything new, there would be some issues with the bill, but overall, the bills are designed tobe fair to all Nigerians.
Naija News reports Sanwo-Olu made the submission during a recent interview with TVC.
The Lagos State Governor also emphasized the need to ensure the benefits of the bills, when implemented, get to the people.
“I believe, quite frankly, that it is a national plan. It will be fair to everybody. Initially, everything that is new, there will be some issues around it, and we are not sure that it will be fair to us.
“But I believe those are the intentions. Let us see what has happened in 2024. Today, foreign currency is wrapping up. I heard that people are buying a dollar at less than N1,500.
Things are beginning to double up. We are beginning to see some bit of stability
“So, like I keep saying, that benefit, we should be able to push it down to our citizens.
We should be able to push it down to the social economic benefit of our people. And it is not a time where anybody can give up now. We have sort of like belt up enough, so that the benefit would be accruing. We all need to be strategically positioned, so that we can take it,” he said.
