In a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen in Makurdi on Thursday, Chief Omale said that the free feeding which would span throughout the fasting period is for both Christians and Muslims.
The chairman also stated that the gesture is aimed at identifying with the people of Benue by way of providing support to families, vulnerable persons, and the less privileged during this holy period of Ramadan and Lent.
He further noted that as the administration of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, continues to focus on alleviating the hardship inherited from previous administrations, the APC in the state has chosen to complement the efforts of the current administration by providing free feeding during the fasting period to ease the burden on residents.
The Benue APC Chairman believes that the free feeding initiative would not only provide comfort but also help ensure a seamless and fulfilling fasting period for all.
He therefore pointed out that the party would invite various groups to the APC State Secretariat, located close to the Railway market, Makurdi, by 6pm on a daily basis to receive free meals.
While urging residents to maintain orderliness during the feeding process, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale announced that the free feeding will commence by today, Thursday, 6th March 2025, at 6pm, starting with people living with disabilities.
He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of the people of Benue state.
