Otusanya, who resides at No. 5 Adelanwa Close, Off Efon-Alaye Street, Shomolu, Lagos, faces two charges: breach of public peace and theft. He pleaded not guilty. According to the prosecutor, Inspector Chekwube Okeh, the alleged incident occurred on January 5 at the defendant’s residence.
Okeh told the court that the complainant, Akan Imeh, and his family returned home from church to discover that Otusanya had replaced the locks on their apartment.
The prosecutor added, “The complainant later noticed that some items, including an iPhone 13, a Samsung phone, and N500,000 in cash, were missing after regaining access to the apartment with police assistance.” The total value of the missing property was estimated at N1.8 million.
The alleged offenses violate Sections 168 and 280 (2)(f) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015 (Revised).
