JUST IN: Nigeria is in Trouble, Dele Momodu Sounds Alarm, Says Tinubu Frittering Away Resources for Second Term Ambition

Published

on

Veteran journalist and Chairman, Ovation Media Group, Chief Dele Momodu, has called on President Bola Tinubu, to rise to the occasion of governance, and cease frittering the nation’s resources for his selfish interest of securing a second term in office....Read More

Momodu made this assertion in an open letter he wrote to the president via his social media handles, sounding an alarm that “Nigeria is in big trouble”.

He advised the president to face the business of governance as it is only performance that can guarantee him a second term in office. He noted that there is urgent for the Tinubu-led government to “stop this reckless propensity for wasting scarce resources.”

He informed Tinubu that “Purchasing Presidential jets, building outlandish monuments, distributing cash as palliatives, etc, are signs of a failed and careless government”, adding that “If you can curb the excessive spending of your government, you will free up a lot of resources for serious development.”

He also told the president to beware of praise singers, who do not mean well him, stressing that the person of Senator Ali Ndume, who recently criticized him, and lost his Senate Chief Whip position, is someone he should listen to.

He added that the Minister of the FCT, Mr. Nyesom Wike deserves to be disciplined for his roles in the problem in Rivers State.

URGENT MESSAGE FOR PRESIDENT TINUBU

Your Excellency, I have decided to write this open letter to you as a concerned friend and Brother. As you’re aware, I’m a member of opposition but you and I have had a long history together. I owe you only one thing, TRUTH. It is very obvious that the first thing that takes flight in the Presidential villa is TRUTH. The reason is simple. Some Nigerians are experts in hijacking men and women of power. The deification process is often swift and irreversible. I’m writing you today, not because I expect you to act on my suggestions, but to put it on record that someone gave you the true picture of things. I’m also hoping that some of your friends will read and interpret to you, in a sober moment…

1. Nigeria is in big trouble. Our economy has virtually collapsed. And what’s the way out? You’ve been wasting too much money at a time that requires absolute frugality. Please, stop this reckless propensity for wasting scarce resources. Purchasing Presidential jets, building outlandish monuments, distributing cash as palliatives, etc, are signs of a failed and careless government. If you can curb the excessive spending of your government, you will free up a lot of resources for serious development.

2. I believe you’re frittering away our resources because you desperately crave a second term. But the best assurance of a second term is PERFORMANCE. Nigerians are not expecting you to turn water into wine but they don’t want you to turn their wines into water. Here are my tips: invest in vocational skills for our highly talented youths who can demonstrate their capacity for hard work. Invest heavily in local agriculture. Upgrade our institutions of learning. Giving cash to politicians to distribute is unhealthy and unhelpful… It is the height of cluelessness.

3. In the name of God, beware of those hero-worshippers at the National Assembly who have turned you into God. NDUME is your best friend. Listen to him. There’s danger ahead. 4. You must enforce DISCIPLINE as a leader. Your new disciple, NYESOM WIKE, has publicly disrespected you in the FUBARA matter. You need to sanction him before he throws Nigeria into total chaos. ...Read More

What Exactly Are They Protesting About? If Not For Bola Tinubu Nigerian Would Have Been A Failed Country – Dave Umahi

Published

on

Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has questioned the motive behind the planned protest scheduled for August 1....Read More

According to the report by The Sun Newspaper on Saturday, Umahi asked what the protesters are agitating for, and added that if Bola Ahmed Tinubu

did not become President, Nigeria would have become a failed country by now.

He said that when people say there is hunger in the country, they should be able to mention what the solution to hunger is. He said that they should not only be talking, but they should be able to proffer solutions to the problem.

He said, “What are they protesting about? Without the coming of President Tinubu, we would have had a failed country. Talk is cheap and a job is very easy when you are not the one doing it. When people say there is hunger, tell us the solution to the hunger. It is not just to be talking and talking.”

He said that the government cannot do everything for people, and urged the masses to improve their productivity. He said that no matter the amount of money the government gives to the citizens as palliative, if the people do not change their productivity level, there would be no results.

He added, “This is my position. When people say they want to protest, it is just being mischievous because tell us what is being done that is not right and proffer solution.”

Speaking further, the former Ebonyi State governor said that constructive criticism is what moves democracy forward, and not malicious and inciting criticism, which he said will not lead the country anywhere

BREAKING: (Full List) Government People Stealing Nigeria’s Oil Says; It Can only Be Done Officially – Peter Obi

Published

Peter Obi

Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi recently spoke to the men of the press and he opened up about a lot of things. While speaking, Peter Obi revealed that oil in Nigeria is stolen by people in government. He further stressed that stealing oil is not an easy thing to do and that it can only be done officially....Read More

“In his Words”

“Oil in Nigeria is being stolen by people in government, nobody can steal oil just like that, you can go into a grocery shop, steal something, put it in your pocket and go away on your back, you can’t steal oil like that. For you to steal oil, a ship has to come into your territorial waters and load your oil and no ship can go into a nation’s territorial waters without the approval of it’s navy.

And you load it, for you to leave, you have to have approval and everybody knows where every ship is on the surface of the earth, it’s something that is recorded”.

“So, if somebody is able to take away oil, there’s a high level connivance between external and internal people who have organized for the oil to leave and you can even trace the oil to where it is offloaded, so it’s not an easy thing to steal, it can only be done officially”, Peter Obi said.
Voice of the East shared the video

Gaze Back At The History Of The PDP And Tell Me How Many Leaders PDP Has Produced? — Anyim

Published

Ayim

According to Punch, President Bola Tinubu received former Senate President Pius Anyim, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)....Read More

Anyim was accompanied to the State House, Abuja, by the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State.

A nyim, a PDP presidential aspirant in the 2023 elections, stated that he joined the APC to collaborate with the government during what he described as “turbulent times.” He emphasized that all patriots have a duty to ensure the country continues to have a peaceful atmosphere.
When asked about his departure from the PDP, Anyim responded, “Can you look back at the history of the PDP and tell me how many leaders the PDP has produced that had joined the APC or another party at any particular point in time? It’s common.”

He added, “But importantly, I am determined to be sure that the country moves on the right path and I should be available to contribute my quota.”

Addressing whether he could have contributed from the opposition party, the former Senate President noted, “ Contributing quota does not necessarily mean to work, but to engender a conducive atmosphere for progress. I’m not looking for work, but there is a need that given the challenges the country is facing today, we all need to put all hands on deck to make the country move forward. ...Read More

JUST IN: Pro-Wike Lawmakers Lambasted For Calling For Arrest of LG Caretaker Chairmen

Published

on

Udenta said the pro-wike lawyers committed political suicides when they defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC)....Read More

He urged the lawyers to stop playing politics with the development of Rivers state by plotting against Governor Sim Fubara’s government

“The latest show of shame by these imposters, pretending to be lawmakers was their unlawful call for the Police to arrest the duly constituted Caretaker Committee Chairmen and members in Rivers State. The world knows that after the expiration of the tenure of the LGA Chairmen, Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration constituted Caretaker Committees to manage the affairs of the local governments pending the next election as any responsible government would have done.

“But in their usual nature of witch-hunting any progress made by the Fubara’s administration, the disgruntled former lawmakers are now shamelessly calling on the Nigeria Police to arrest the members of the duly constituted Caretaker Committees. Their call is tantamount to calling for anarchy.

The Amaewhule-led Rivers Assembly had moved to stop Fubara from spending the state’s funds.

However, a court rejected the suit sponsored by Wike lawmakers and refused to halt all expenditures by Governor Fubara. ...Read More

Popular Pastor List Who Want To Bring Down Tinubu’s Govt, Speaks About Protest

on

A popular man of God, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stated that some people want the President Bola Tinubu’ s ” government to collapse” because they were not telling him the truth, particularly regarding the planned nationwide protest....Read More

Primate Elijah, who leads INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, said there is nothing Tinubu can do stop the protest, stressing that he needs to be careful of people around him because they refused to let him know the truth about the current situation of the country.

” People who surround the government are deceiving him. They want the government to collapse. The government has not done anything so they should expect the protest, it will stand, ” the man of God said in a statement released by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, on Thursday.

Speaking further, he said undoubtedly, people are bitter and have hatred for this administration; therefore, nothing will stop the planned protest, although some States may not join other Nigerians to occupy the streets.

He added that President Tinubu needs to make life comfortable for Nigerians, particularly by crashing the price of food, electricity, petroleum, finding solutions to insecurity.

” People are very bitter, and they have hatred towards this government. Some states will participate and some will not, but definitely there will be protests. The government needs all it needs to do; crash the price of food, electricity, petroleum, find solutions to insecurity, regulate prices and others to mitigate the effect of the protest, ” he added.

According to him, the federal government must do something fast because the forthcoming protest is beyond ordinary. He, however, stated that the country does not need such a protest at this moment.

Eject TINUBU’S Govt! This Is What Wike PROMISED To Do In ABUJA Amid Nationwide Protest

The Minister made this known while speaking after a security meeting in the capital on Thursday. He declared that Abuja is not available for any protest because the government will not give room for it....Read More

” To those who want to protest on the 1st of August, FCT is not available to any form of protests. We will not allow it, ” Wike said.
According to Wine, August 1st, which the Sponsors of the protest scheduled to begin their demonstration has been set aside for the celebration and issuance of certificates to the Chairmen of the six Area Councils and traditional rulers.

He further explained that the government understands that protest is a constitutional right of every Nigeria, but Nigerians need to work together for the betterment of the country.
” We know that it is a very difficult period for the citizens, but we urge Nigerians to be patient, ” he added.

Meanwhile, Dele Momodu, a veteran journalist and the publisher of Ovation Magazine, has expressed concerns over the planned protest, stressing that it will be too risky for the country, particularly since the Sponsors of the protest are faceless.

He added that, with his experience regarding protests, nothing is riskier for a country than a protest to be led by faceless people.

” I have 46 years experience in protests, since 1978 at the University of Ife, ” Momodu said in a post on his social media account.
” There’ s nothing riskier for a nation than faceless people or a mob leading protests. It is the right of everyone to protest, but not the right of anyone to cause mayhem… And the government has the right to protect lives and properties, ” he added.

Labour Party in disarray as new chairman emerges

Published

on

The crisis in the Labour Party, LP, has taken a new twist as a Former Deputy National Chairman, Callistus Okafor, has laid claim to the National Chairmanship position....Read More

Okafor, in a news conference in Abuja, on Friday, said his decision to “take over” the party was supported by a 2018 consent judgment of the federal high court which according to him was ignored.

He pointed out that at the time, there was a leadership tussle between the late national chairman of the party, Abdulkadir Salam and another faction led by Salisu Mohammed, who equally declared himself as national caretaker chair of the party.

The judge handling the dispute, Gabriel Kolawole, in the consent verdict, held that the separate national conventions held by both parties to the dispute were “inclusive”.

Okafor contended that because the court ruling was not obeyed, Julius Abure inherited and built on this faulty structure to become the national chairman.

According to him, as things stand today, he as a member of the then National Working Committee as well as others along with him are beneficiaries of the 2018 judgment.

“The owner of the house has taken the house. When I mean owner, I am not contesting Labour Party leadership with NLC, no.”

“I’m talking about the process. The midwife of this process (fresh convention).

“The 2014 convention is the right avenue to midwife it. For that reason, Callistus Okafor is now the acting chairman of the Labour Party.

“Sequel to the above development, members of the 2014 National Working Committee who are beneficiaries of the consent judgment have agreed to midwife an all-inclusive and expansive convention in compliance with the Consent Judgment delivered by Hon Justice G.O. Kolawole, and further agreed to within six months embark on a purposeful reconciliation of all aggrieved members and groups to achieve a united, focused Labour Party that will redefine political leadership in Nigeria’s quest for a better nation.”

He added that his intervention is “a pivotal resolution of the long-drawn legal battle for the soul of the Labour Party.

The National Publicity Secretary of the LP, Obiora Ifoh, when contacted, dismissed Okafor’s claims.

He said, “We don’t need to look any further than those who have sworn to destroy our party in their calculations for 2027.

“Julius Abure is the legitimate National Chairman of our great party. There are several Court judgements that support this position. We will not reduce ourselves to relying on those who have been hired to distract us.”
