Amakhosi Take Strong Squad to Lubumbashi
The traveling group features a strong balance of seasoned campaigners and promising new faces. Midfielder Lebohang Maboe is set to make his long-awaited debut after recovering from injury and being included in the matchday squad for the first time since joining the club.
However, striker Etiosa Ighodaro remains in Johannesburg to continue his fitness program, while young attackers Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman — both registered for CAF duty — have not made the trip. Midfielder Ethan Chislett, who recently recovered from a minor knock, will also sit this one out.
Injury Updates and Key Returns
Siphesihle Ndlovu makes a welcome return from injury, but the likes of Rushwin Dortley, Given Msimango, Thabiso Monyane, and Paseko Mako remain sidelined. The return leg will be played on Saturday, 25 October, at Dobsonville Stadium in Johannesburg, where Chiefs will look to secure their spot in the group stages.
