AC Milan are currently preparing to take on Juventus this weekend, and Weston McKennie has expressed some confidence about the fixture.
Milan-Juventus is one of Italy’s big fixtures, but this season, it won’t hold the same weight. Typically this has been a game to decide titles, but with the Rossoneri praying for a Champions League spot, and the Bianconeri fighting for one, there is not much weight on the table.
Instead, the weight is on pride. After a 0-0 draw at San Siro earlier this season, things had to improve for the Diavolo, and since then, it has been very up and down, but the ups have not been substantial.
That is until Sergio Conceicao arrived. Within his first week, Milan were crowned champions, winning the Supercoppa Italiana after victories against the Old Lady and Inter. Now, Juventus have their eyes on revenge.
Today, McKennie spoke about the upcoming game and referred to their issues in the Supercoppa when speaking to Tuttosport, via Milan News.
“We want to win, to extend the lead over Milan and move up the table. We all have to give more because Juve have to win and stay on top. We have to keep our concentration to not make mistakes and also to score the second goal after scoring the first.”
