AC Milan have today ‘opened the door’ to Emerson Royal’s exit after just six months at the club, interest from Turkey is already prominent.

The right-back situation is confusing and for many, frustrating. Last season, Milan were evidently short in the position, and this meant that summer recruitment was a necessity. Originally, it seemed that Tiago Santos was the preferred option, but this was not how it ended.

Instead, the Rossoneri went for Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur, which was heavily criticised, given Santos is a full-back with potential, whereas Emerson is one who has struggled to live up to his potential.

Nevertheless, here the Diavolo are with Emerson. The Brazilian, in his first six months, has struggled to establish himself with little-to-no competition due to Davide Calabria’s injuries, and so an exit is looking possible.

Kyle Walker is set to arrive and Milan are preparing an official bid to be sent this evening, so this could mean that Emerson leaves to ‘make way’. Initial reports suggested that a sale would be the case, but Milan News now report that the Rossoneri have ‘opened the door’ to a loan deal.

Galatasaray are the most interested party, and a six-month loan could be perfect to allow all parties to reassess in the summer, especially considering Walker is likely to arrive on loan.
