The attack occurred around 6: 00 p. m. between Nunku, located in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, and Gwantu, in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State. The bandits ambushed Dr. Kigbu’ s vehicle, engaging in a gun battle with his police escort, who attempted to thwart the abduction.

Tragically, the police officer was shot and killed during the exchange of gunfire. Eyewitnesses described the assailants firing sporadically, sparking panic among motorists and locals in the area.
