Muma Gee, who hails from Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State will be unveiled during a special concert scheduled to hold on the 9th of March, 2025 in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at a news briefing in Port Harcourt the thespian said the release of the single is part of an exclusive event celebrating holistic African Music, glamour and entertainment.
Muma Gee further said the new single encourages self-love and inspires people to dream big, pointing out that her inspiration was drawn from real-life experiences over the years.
She stated, “God kept me alive till now and asked me to take a break from my madness, simmer down, repackage, reboot myself and pool out a new person.
“This is a new reboot for me. I used to be different from this. I have been through like fire, like gold. You know when you want to make a gold bracelet and all that, you put it through fire. I have been through hell and back.
“First of all as a people, we are Africans. As Africans, we like to tell our stories ourselves. And I’m one who not only inherited story-telling from our forefathers, grandparents; our parents to my immediate and extended family.
“But I’m a trained professional, a trained thespian from the Theatre Arts, Faculty of Humanities at the University of Port Harcourt and I graduated in 2004.
“It is the ‘Shine Concert’ we come out with because we need to shine for our destiny to shine, for our life, our future to shine. We need to shine for our mindset to shine positively.
“So one day I sat down and wrote a song. I then said what is going to be the title of the song. I told myself this song is going to be titled Shine. Shine is going to be officially released on the 9th of March, 2025 here in Port Harcourt.”
On her brand of music, Muma Gee reiterates that she does purely African songs with a blend of all other genres of music.
“We infuse the African element to it and it turns to what we call ‘South Afrique’ which simply means Sounds from Africa.”
She praised the evolution of Nigerian music, saying, “Nigerian music has conquered the world. You go to Spain, they are playing Nigerian music. When you go to India they are playing Nigerian music. We are everywhere. But then again we are extremely indigenous people as Nigerians.”
