The Ikon Allah Boys lost 2-0 to their hosts at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
Tornadoes were the favourites heading into the game despite playing on the road.
The Minna club were, however, surprised by the home team, who put up a brilliant display in the contest.
Mohammed conceded his players were not up to their best in the game.
“I am really surprised that my boys weren’t at their best today. Perhaps, they underrated Nasarawa United,” Mohammed told the media after the game.
“The outcome of the game today shows that Nasarawa United needed the points more than we did, reason they came out smoking from the blast of the whistle, which put us under intense pressure.
“We conceded an early goal, and before we knew it, it was already difficult to get along as the game progressed.”
