Rachel Kolisi, the former wife of Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, has sparked controversy after her social media activity suggested she agrees with negative comments about her ex-husband. Kolisi has been open about her mental health challenges throughout the divorce process. She and the rugby star, who announced their separation one year ago, are now navigating life as co-parents.

A recent cryptic TikTok post from Rachel Kolisi hinted at the underlying cause of their split. The video featured a soundtrack of a woman discussing betrayal by a partner. The audio described a scenario where a person falls and their partner watches, smiling, without offering help or an apology. The narration concluded, “You don’t understand love anymore, you’ve met evil. They’ve killed a part of you before you were ready to die.”

In the comments section of this emotional post, Rachel Kolisi liked a comment from a user named Milele who drew parallels to her own relationship experience. Milele wrote of her ex, “Yes, he’s Xhosa, agents of Satan. Very selfish beings.” Rachel also liked another comment that spoke of meeting “evil” but finding strength through faith. This social media activity has drawn significant attention to the ongoing divorce between Rachel Kolisi and the Springbok captain.

Allegations of Infidelity Surface

Comments and social media interactions from Rachel Kolisi have repeatedly suggested that Siya Kolisi was unfaithful during their marriage. These allegations find some support in Siya’s own 2023 autobiography, “Rise,” where he confessed to a previously unknown side of his life.

In the book, Siya Kolisi detailed his struggles with heavy drinking, visits to strip clubs, and irresponsible spending. Much of this behavior occurred around the time of his 2016 marriage to Rachel. He recounted a particularly difficult period in 2015, shortly after Rachel gave birth to their first child, Nicholas. While in England for the World Cup, Siya chose to spend his free time drinking heavily with teammates rather than with his wife and newborn son, who had flown out to visit him.

He wrote candidly about this failure, stating, “Rachel had come out with baby Nick, and this would have been the perfect opportunity to spend some time with them; but no, I preferred to be out with the boys. It was an awful time for her, and I was too selfish to realise. In the end, Rachel got fed up with me being a jerk and flew home a week early.” He acknowledged this was not an isolated incident, adding, “Rachel had had enough. If it had been an isolated incident, that would have been one thing, but it wasn’t.”

The autobiography also contained an allusion to infidelity. Siya recalled a conversation with his Christian mentor, Ben Schoeman, who confronted him directly about his behavior, saying, “Siya, you drink a lot, you fool around with women, you go to strip clubs. You post on social media about your faith in Christ, but you’re lying to yourself and everyone else.” These revelations from his own book provide context to the current allegations and the apparent acrimony surrounding the divorce of Rachel Kolisi and the celebrated rugby captain.
