Complaint Under Investigation
The JSCI confirmed that it received a complaint against Fazel and has informed the President of its intention to investigate. Details of the allegations remain undisclosed as the inquiry is ongoing.
Legal Basis for Suspension
Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said the suspension was made under Section 7(5) of the Intelligence Services Oversight Act, allowing the President to suspend the Inspector-General pending the committee’s findings.
